This short journey give you opportunities to trek in the hills, explore local villages in Sapa, former French hill station located in the North of Vietnam. Today, Sapa still attracts visitors for its stunning scenery, comfortable climate, colorful markets, and a variety of ethnic hill tribes living in nearby villages. Total trekking distance: 30km.

Day 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai

You will take an overnight express train (soft sleeper berth) from Hanoi to Lao Cai province.

Day 2: Lao Cai – Sapa - Lao Chai – Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai – Sapa (B/L)

Upon arrival at the Lao Cai railway station in early morning, we will take a scenic drive for 1.5hours to Sapa.  After check in hotel for breakfast, we will commence a short journey by driving south toward Muong Hoa valley. Then start our walk by descending into the valley, which is the largest terraced rice paddy in the Sapa area. Our guide will provide interesting information about the cultivation of rice. If you visit the valley sometime in between May and October, you will be able to observe and experience how the locals plant and harvest, one of the most important activities in their daily life. The walk takes you from Lao Chai village of the Black H'mong minority to Ta Van village of the Dzay minority including a visit to the local Catholic Church. Lunch is cooked by a guide in home of the friendly Dzay family in Ta Van village.  Afterwards head up to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zao tribe where you will see the amazing scenery and beautiful waterfall. Transfer back to Sapa.

Day  3: Sapa – Matra - Suoi Ho - Ta Phin – Sapa (B/L)

After breakfast, we spend whole day trekking up and down hills, through the forests or on terraced rice fields, to visit other hill tribe villages.  We will pass through Black Hmong ethnic minority in Matra and Suoi Ho villages. Then take a short visit to a local school and enjoy a picnic lunch en route.
After lunch, we head toward Ta Phin village, home to Black Hmong and Red Dzao minorities, the two largest ethnic groups in the area.  Return Sapa by car and then transfer to Lao Cai for overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 4: Arrive Hanoi

The train will arrive in Hanoi in early morning. The trip concludes.
